As part of the development of the Cloncreen Wind Farm we will be commencing tree felling and vegetation clearance works in January 2020. These works will take place at Cloncreen bog and adjacent to the L1003 road (Cloncrane Road) between the R402 and the site construction entrance.
The tree felling and vegetation clearance works will be carried out by specialist contractors and supervised by Bord na Móna. It is envisaged that this activity will be undertaken in January and February 2020, subject to weather conditions.
Over the next few weeks, there will be a number of vehicle movements in the area to access the site and to deliver plant and equipment. Site access will be from the R402 [Main Edenderry to Tullamore road] and via the local road off the R402 at Rathvilla (access road to Lough Aisling).
The site work is scheduled to take place between the hours of 8:00 hours and 18:00 hours, Monday to Friday. During this period, there will be between 8-10 workers on site daily.
There may be some localised traffic disruption during the tree felling activities adjacent to the L1003.
Bord na Móna regrets any inconvenience caused to residents during this period.

As part of the proposed Cloncreen Wind Farm development, we will be carrying out site investigation work on Cloncreen bog. The purpose of this work is to assess the ground conditions at the locations of the 21 turbines, hardstands, access tracks, substations and sites of other structures.
The site investigation work will be carried out by a site investigation specialist supervised by Bord na Móna. Works are expected to commence on Monday 8th October 2018. It is proposed to carry out all site based activities within an 8 – 10-week period, subject to weather conditions.

In May 2017, Bord na Móna Powergen received planning permission for the proposed Cloncreen Wind Farm.
Bord na Móna Powergen also received permission for a substation at two locations. We will only use one of these locations depending on where the project will get access to the National Grid. Please download map to see proposed locations.
